Joop!; Lynx for grown ups...

Just yesterday, I was locked in conversation about how disgusting Lynx/Axe branded Anti-Perspirant/body spray was on the nasal cavity, to which the other person agreed. Yes, it's cheap; no, I don't wear it (anymore). More on, if this coversation was anything to go by, the ads on TV are completely false in regard to attracting the ladies, as the person I was having this conversation with was in fact female. I've said it for years; The only thing Lynx attracts (if you are a 12 year old boy) is other 12 year old boys. Plain and simple.

As aforementioned, I don't wear Lynx anymore, but I do like to wear middle of the road fragrances when the occasion calls for it. Joop! is my all time favourite, as it is for a lot of other men. It is also probably the most recognised Eau de toilette in the world, the male equivalent to Red Door if you will.
In fact, Joop! can almost be considered the Lynx for the grown up man.
This point was further reinforced today when working with a colleague. The first thing I noticed was...yep, his cologne. What was it? Yep, you guessed it, Joop!
My first words to him were to the effect of "You're wearing Joop!, I can pick it a mile away...."
My colleague's reply was more or less "yeah, it's a pretty distinctive smell, aye..."

All this got me thinking about an episode of the Cartoon Network programme Regular Show, where one of the main characters, Mordecai (the Blue Jay) bought a bottle of "Dude time" after seeing it on TV to try attract Margaret, a local female Blue Jay. In the end, all he attracts is a bunch of Multicultural, mostly Punk rock appearing Unicorns who like the smell of "Dude time".

I guess somethings never change in life. The fragrance may be a little more expensive, but the effect is still the same...
